Tour Plan
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Colombo. Explore city highlights such as Gangaramaya Temple, Independence Square, and the lively Pettah Market. Enjoy a relaxing dinner by the seaside before beginning your journey inland.
Head north to the sacred city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first ancient capital. Explore vast ruins including massive stupas like Ruwanwelisaya and Jetavanaramaya, the Abhayagiri Monastery, and the revered Sri Maha Bodhi tree, believed to be over 2,000 years old. Spend the evening soaking in the historic and spiritual atmosphere.
Travel east to Polonnaruwa, the island’s medieval capital. Discover its royal palaces, temples, and the iconic Gal Vihara with its four colossal Buddha statues carved from granite. Continue to Sigiriya and check into your hotel near the rock fortress, preparing for an exciting climb the next day.
Rise early to climb the UNESCO-listed Sigiriya Rock Fortress, with its ancient frescoes, landscaped gardens, and sweeping views from the top. Later, visit the Dambulla Cave Temples, a remarkable cave complex filled with intricate murals and statues of Buddha, before returning to your hotel in Sigiriya.
Depart for Kandy, stopping at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can watch elephants being bathed and cared for. On arrival in Kandy, stroll around the scenic lake, visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, and in the evening, enjoy a traditional Kandyan dance performance.
Take a scenic train journey through rolling tea plantations and misty mountains to Nuwara Eliya. Explore “Little England” with its colonial-era architecture, charming gardens, and Gregory Lake. Visit a tea plantation and factory to see the process of making world-famous Ceylon tea.
Drive towards Ella, stopping at Ramboda Falls and the famous Nine Arch Bridge. Continue your journey south to Yala National Park. In the afternoon, set out on a jeep safari where you may encounter elephants, leopards, deer, and a variety of bird species. Overnight at a lodge near the park.
Travel along the southern coastline, stopping at the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with colonial architecture, boutique shops, and cobblestone streets. Continue to Bentota or Mirissa for your final beachside stay. Spend the evening relaxing by the ocean.
Spend your last morning in Sri Lanka enjoying the tropical beach atmosphere—whether it’s a walk along the sand, a refreshing swim, or simply soaking in the sun. Depending on your flight time, transfer to Colombo or directly to the airport for your departure.
